The value for money at this hostel was great, especially with the free upgraded private room. The location was perfect for going to the Astor Theatre and the staff were friendly and helpful.
The breakfast experience could have been improved with some orange juice.

I had a fantastic one night stay at the Billabong in Perth. As a solo traveler, I felt completely at ease thanks to the friendly and helpful staff who made my first hostel experience a breeze. The hostel was surprisingly clean and had all the necessary amenities like a big outdoor pool area, movie room, and spacious kitchen. The buses conveniently stopped right outside, making it easy to get around and connect with airport shuttles. Special shoutout to David, the night shift receptionist, who went above and beyond by jump starting my car when I was in a tight spot. The staff at this place are truly excellent!
I highly recommend this hotel.

We stayed at a well-located hostel with a bus stop at the door and just a short walk from the downtown area. the staff was friendly and helpful, and the private room we had was clean, comfortable, and had its own bathroom and balcony. the hostel had a nice pool area and kitchens, and we enjoyed sitting by the pool, having a drink, and chatting with other guests. the free breakfast provided each morning was a great perk, and the kitchen facilities were the best we've had in a hostel. we had a nice stay at Billabong Backpackers Resort. Cons: Nothing all good. 👍.

The hostel offered a free breakfast and a home-cooked evening meal for a small fee, which was a great money-saving option over the Christmas period. The location was ideal, with plenty of cafes, restaurants, and bars within walking distance. the staff were cheerful and helpful, providing us with valuable information about the area and transport options.
The lack of cleanliness was a downside. The rooms were not properly cleaned, and there were even stains on the bed sheets.

The breakfast was satisfactory. Spacious and quiet rooms, even next to the lifts. Their free courtesy shuttle into town was extremely convenient, especially during the rainy Christmas season.
Not very clean. Woke up to a humongous cockroach on my backpack next to the bed.

Great communal areas with affordable meals and entertainment options like pool tables and TVs. Plenty of plug sockets in the rooms. - Convenient location within walking distance to the city center.
Run-down and dirty-looking rooms with smelly carpets. Noise issue, even on higher floors, making it difficult to sleep.
